Introduction
My moniker "Born Under a Blue Moon" is not arrogance. I'm not a typical person and probably not a typical woman. I'm not a bad person, or a weird one, but I'm not a groupie. I'm drawn to desolate places. If you can, find the poem, "The Spell of the Yukon." Service does a better job than I can describing what drives me. I would rather be collecting minerals in an old mine than eating out at a fine restaurant. I'd rather have a canoe paddle for my birthday than a diamond necklace. Give me a shiny rock on a string to hang around my neck and I'll think I'm a queen. I don't own a little black dress with heels, but I have several wool shirts, a desert cap and some pretty mean boots. I wear jeans most of the time and can't be bothered with makeup. I know myself and I'm not beautiful, not the sort of woman that men dream of showing off to their buddies. I can do a party, but I don't like to. Offer me a ticket to the opera, and I'd probably turn you down in favor of a cold evening in sleeping bag watching a meteor shower. I live for adventure, and I don't care much whether or not I display well. Sigh. So there you have it.
