If you have seen my garage and survived to tell about it, you will be impressed. I rebuilt these two workbenches out of a damaged door, two folding closet doors, some two-by-fours from my neighbor's garbage pile and pieces of another workbench that was falling apart. I didn't spend a dime for this rebuild....I'm not sure that's something to be bragging about.

Holy cow! I only wish I could have been there to help. You know, I have the same tendencies as you, building things out of pieces of other things, digging in the neighbors dumpster for exactly the right sized shim, but Alex isn't really into that. I foresee a situation like the one you and dad had where I build stuff when Alex is gone for a few days so he can't comment on how I'm accomplishing the task : )
