Ben and I headed out to the desert today. We went to the Fitzgerald Wildlife Refuge. It was beautiful as always.
Ben really had a good time.
He danced around in the shallow puddles for awhile then saw that water was disappearing into a culvert (to Ben it was a hole much like the ones ground squirrels disappear into, except much bigger). Before I realized where he was going, he was down the chute. I ran to the other side expecting to see a drowned dog shooting out the chute, but Ben was just standing there in the mouth of the culvert. He was about 5 feet above a little pool but was too chicken to jump. So he turned around and fought the water backwards and finally emerged...soaking wet.
But all in all he had a great time.
Had to see if algae tastes good (apparently it doesn't).
And do some wild dashing....
It was a happy day for Ben...
Very happy!

What a great dog you have. So darn happy!
The harrier pictures are great--the last one is my favorite.
