Wow! Now That's Getting Things Done!

Looks like I cleaned out that room just in time! I came home to a very! large hole in the basement floor. On the wall is the hole where the sewer pipe comes in from the addition into the main drain.

The new, larger sewer pipe will nest in this ditch all the way to what used to be the laundry room drain (new where Ben's nose is--as you can see the dogs find this ditch irresistible)

All of the pipes you see here will be removed and moved over to make room for a bathroom, the drain pipes will be enlarged to 3" pipes and the floor drain will go away. (Notice that I forgot to move the drier. I was so tired last night that I decided to move it in the morning and then I forgot. I think I need to be signed up!*)
Here's the ditch all the way from the drain to the hole in the wall (squint and you can see it).
But that's not all they got done today! Two walls up!

It's pretty impressive.

The most impressive part is that I asked Cal to make sure that when Dad or Mom are in bed, they can look out that big window at the mountain. I know you can't see it right now because the tree has leaves, but in the winter when they can't go out on the porch to watch the sun rise and set on the mountain,
what they will see through that wonderful window is this...

*This weekend Robert told me that Courtney is currently registering patients for an Alzheimer's study. Whenever one of them has a memory failure, the other says they need to be "signed up." I think I need to be "signed up."

WOW! That's excellent! So thoughtful of you to put in a window that faces the mountains. I know they'll appreciate it. Its funny, but I never think of there being 'ground' below a house. So strange to see dirt there!

Woah! That's amazing progress. It's going so fast (from my armchair anyway).
