The wood planks are glued to the sub floor, then nailed to the sub floor, which is nailed to the floor itself. I tried to get it up earlier, but removing this much took me 30 minutes!!
So I went and got a carbide saw blade so I could cut it into smaller slabs like this...
...and tear it up a piece at a time. I have to say it went much better.
At least until I got about half way done. Then I just lost my drive. It seemed that the planks would never end--Jack was thinking the same. He kept coming in, looking around the corner, and, seeing that I was still ripping and tearing, headed back outside. Come to think of it, my motivation could have been negatively affected by the nail that went through the sole of my shoe and halfway through my foot as well. Fudge!! Finally, everthing ended up in this pile. I would have taken it out and put it in the trash trailer, but I was pretty sure the neighbors wouldn't appreciate the thunk, thunk, thunk of wood falling 6 feet and hitting the metal bottom at 11:00 at night. At least that's my story.

Oh. My. God. That looks like a terrible job. I can't believe you managed!
